Sweet Chili Whiskey Loaded Smoked Sausages

The right toppings can be what icing is to cake…pure and delicious adornment.  These toppings join forces with the craft sausages and the results are pure magic!

Ingredients

—6 Links: Queen City Sausage: Brats and metts.  Mix and match

—6 Buns

—6 Strips of thick sliced bacon.  Fried and chopped

—4 Large White onions.  Sliced

—5 TBLS Whiskey

—5 Cloves of garlic.  Chopped

—1 TSP Chili paste

—2 TBLS Honey

—Mustard

—Chives or parsley for garnish

Directions

  1. Large skillet.  Fry the bacon and set the strips aside, leaving the remaining grease

  2. Add the onions to the skillet along with the garlic.  The goal is to caramelize the onions so be patient and the onions will reduce down in size

  3. Once caramelized and ready to serve,  add the honey, chili paste and whiskey to the mix

  4. Garnish with the chopped bacon and parsley
