Smoked Sausage Pinecone Treats

These little nuggets are packed with flavor and fun.  Easy to make.  Great for sharing!

Ingredients

—2 Packs: Queen City Sausage—Smoked Sausage.  Feel free to mix varieties.

—8 OZ Montgomery Inn BBQ Sauce

—1/2 Cup Yellow mustard

—2 TBLS Grippo’s Gourmet BBQ Spice

—1/2 TSP Pepper

—1/2 Red onion

Directions

  1. Score the sausages in a cross-stitch pattern on both sides

  2. Coat the scored sausages with the mustard, dust with the bbq spice, and pepper

  3. Bake in a preheated 300 degree F oven for 20-30 minutes

  4. Remove from oven and cut into thirds

  5. Place the pieces in a large, oven-proof skillet.  Add bbq sauce.  Cook the sausages at medium heat, evenly coating the links for abut 5 minutes

  6. Transfer the skillet and contents to a preheated 350 degree oven for for about 20 minutes, achieving a slight char

  7. Remove and let cool briefly and serve
