FRENCH ONION TOPPED SMOKED SAUSAGE

Ingredients

·         4 Links—Queen City Sausage – Smoked Sausage or favorite QCS sausage

·         4 Hot dog buns

·         1 Yellow onion, sliced thin

·         1 Bag beefy onion soup mix.  We used, Lipton Beefy Onion

·         8 OZ Sour cream

·         8 OZ Mozzarella cheese, shredded

·         Coarse pepper

·         2 OZ Olive oil for browning links

Directions

1.      Mix the sour cream and Lipton Beefy Onion soup mix

2.      Medium heat-skillet—brown the sausages in oil

3.      Add the onions and oil to a non-stick skillet, medium heat to sauté the onions.  Thoroughly soften

4.      Once the onions are done create 4 small piles with the onions.  Add cheese on top of each pile

5.      Spread the onion soup mix/sour cream on each of the buns.  Add the sausages.  Top with one each of the onion piles

6.      Sprinkle coarse ground pepper

Yield: 4 Servings
