Sausage-topuses

Here is a fun take on sausages that delight the kids and adults too. Maybe it is okay to play with your food after all.  The recipe is influenced by the Japanese Tako San.

Ingredients

—1 PK Queen City Smoked Sausage

Directions

  1. Cut the links in half.

  2. Make 3 slits in the bottom, half way up, turn and repeat

  3. Cut out the mouth and using the skewer or chopstick, poke 2 holes for eyes

  4. Heat up cooking oil to about medium heat.  You can also pan fry

  5. Take a skewer stick and poke into the top of the cut sausages and dip into the oil at about 10 seconds at a time, until the tentacles open.  Drain in a paper towel

  6. Re-heat as necessary in a 350 degree F oven for about 5 minutes
