Smoked Sausage Mac and Cheese

This is a homemade recipe that is sure to please!

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Links—Queen City Sausage’ Smoked Sausage or any QCS favorite sausage–diced
  • 10 OZ Uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 Cups Shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Hold back ½ cup for topping
  • ½ Cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 Cups whole milk
  • 3 TBS all-purpose flour
  • 2 TBS. Butter
  • ½ Cup bread crumbs

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain
  2. Medium saucepan, medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour to make a roux. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Stir in cheese until melted. Sauce should be somewhat thick
  3. In a bowl, combine the macaroni and cheese sauce. Stir to thoroughly blend
  4. Add macaroni mixture to casserole dish
  5. Add the ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  6. Spread the bread crumbs evenly over the casserole ingredients
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Yield: 6 Servings
