Smoked Cottage Ham (Pork Shoulder) Rice Medley

Cincinnati’s very own cottage ham; Smoke. Tender. Extreme Flavor. So versatile!



  • 1.5 LB. Smoked Cottage Ham. Sliced very thin
  • 1.5 Cups of rice. Package instructions for cooking or use microwave packages – Seeds of Change
  • 8 OZ of Portabella mushrooms. Sliced
  • 6 OZ Shredded carrots
  • ½ Onion. Sliced
  • 1 Can – 14.5 OZ. Hunts, Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes
  • 3 OZ. Teriyaki sauce
  • 3 OZ Dried smoked tomatoes. (Optional)
  • 2 OZ. Olive oil


  1. Medium skillet, medium-low heat. Add the olive oil
  2. Add the mushrooms, onion, smoked tomatoes, and carrots to brown
  3. Add the Fire Roasted Tomatoes
  4. Add the rice. Stir thoroughly to blend
  5. Add the cottage ham 2 minutes before serving. Best to not over cook as it will lose much of the flavor.
